Terms of Employment: 12 Months (235 days)

Reports to: Superintendent
Mission and Goals
- Works with the Superintendent and those whom he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teaching
- Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of system goals and objectives
- Develops goals, objectives, programs, and operations that are consistent with District vision, mission, and goals
Superintendent of Education
- Serves as liaison between the Superintendent and the Board of Education, Staff, Parents and others
- Manages the files and official business affairs of the Superintendent
- Handles phone calls for the Superintendent and routes them appropriately
- Makes appointments for the Superintendent
- Prepares correspondence and reports for the Superintendent
Board of Education
- Gives public notice of Board meetings by informing the press and posting notices in the Central Office and in other designated areas
- Prepares monthly Board information packets
- Informs media of special called Board meetings by phone and/or fax
- Prepares agendas setting forth all known items of business to be considered at the Board meeting
- Sends draft copies of Board agendas to each member prior to the next meeting of the Board
- Keeps full and accurate minutes of the Board meetings in official, bound volumes
- Coordinates refreshments for Board meetings as directed
- Continually updates Board Policy Manual public copy
Communication
- Communicates Board action to administration and appropriate personnel in a timely manner
- Types, files, and maintains written communications for the Superintendent and the Board of Education Types and disseminates Board policies and/or exhibits
MSIS Coordinator
- Coordinates the data collection process
- Ensures that data submitted to MSIS and SAMS is timely and accurate
- Provides professional development for staff members, including demonstrations that incorporate hands-on training, enabling data entry personnel to become familiar with actual data entry screens, providing examples that reflect actual situations that will be encountered, and the provision of handbooks or guidebooks
- Develops and maintains written descriptions of the procedures for obtaining assistance
- Resolves discrepancies in information before reports are forwarded to senior staff
- Develops a process that allows staff to request the new reports or modifications of existing reports
- Collaborates with the District Technology Director to enhance the ability of computer programs to determine effective editing procedures for reports and other information
- Performs any other task as designated by the Superintendent, the School Board, and the designee of the Superintendent
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month year (235 Days). Salary will be established by the Board.
